Dr. Tite Tiénou

Dr. Tite Tiénou, Dean Emeritus and Research Professor of Theology of Mission at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois (United States), holds the Tite Tiénou Chair of Global Theology and World Christianity at the same institution. He taught at Alliance Theological Seminary, Nyack, New York, from 1984 to 1993, served as the founding President and Dean of Faculté de Théologie Évangélique de l’Alliance Chrétienne, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire from 1993 to 1997 and the first Director of the African Theological Initiative. He has served the living God since 1971, first as a pastor in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso with the Église de l’Alliance Chrétienne, and in the same city as theological educator when his wife Marie and he founded Maranatha Institute in 1976. He is known for his various contributions to matters of theological education, especially as they relate to the African continent. Dr. Tiénou‘s publications include: “Notion et gestion de pouvoir dans l’Afrique traditionnelle: leçon pour aujourd’hui” (2016); “Revisiter la théologie en Afrique contemporaine (2018).
