
Dr. Haruna Zagoon-Sayeed
Dr. Haruna Zagoon-Sayeed teaches Islamic Studies at the Department for the Study of Religions, University of Ghana, Legon, Accra. He is an interdisciplinary professional. He is an academic, a writer and a researcher in fields of education, religion, youth development, international affairs, and peacebuilding. Dr. Zagoon-Sayeed is a social development advocate and serves on many boards of non-governmental organizations in the areas of education and social justice in Ghana. He is a well-known personality within the Muslim Community in Ghana as he engages in community work at all levels of the Muslim Community particularly the youth. Dr. Zagoon-Sayeed has delivered papers at a number of conferences in his areas of expertise locally and internationally. He obtained his PhD in Islam and Peacebuilding from University of Birmingham, United Kingdom; and his publications include: “A case of social re-engineering for the Ghanaian Muslim youth” (2016).
