Joel Carpenter
Joel Carpenter is professor and provost emeritus of Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. At Calvin he also founded and directed the Nagel Institute for the Study of World Christianity.
He is a historian and has published many works in the field of American religious history, most notably Revive Us Again: The Reawakening of American Fundamentalism (Oxford, 1997). In more recent years he has devoted his research, writing and editing to the study of Christianity in Africa and Asia. His most recent book, edited on behalf of its late author, Paul Joshua, is Christianity Remade: The Rise of Indian-Instituted Churches (Baylor, 2022).
